Carl Johan Billmark became something of a distant chronicler of Stockholm. After 1833, he lived mainly in Paris, but returned to Sweden during several summers to draw. The Swedish motifs were then often reworked and printed using Paris's lithographic resources—an international route to the local cityscape.

The story behind the motif

Canvas with a painting depicting the outer courtyard of the Royal Palace in Stockholm. The artwork is painted by the well-known artist Carl Johan Billmark, who was a prominent landscape artist in the 19th century.

The motif depicts the Royal High Guard standing in formation and on horseback in front of what could be a royal carriage. Some well-dressed civilians stand admiring the golden carriage and a boy is seen running out of the way of the horses.

Delivery time is normally around 5–7 business days within the Nordic countries, as we handcraft our canvas artworks in our factory in Sweden, and the canvas fabric also needs to dry before we stretch it over a wooden frame and ship it to you.

If you order from Norway, your order will be delivered with Fedex; to Sweden and the rest of the world with DHL. Your package is normally delivered to your nearest pickup point!
