Poster featuring Strawberry Thief, William Morris’s iconic textile pattern from 1883. The pattern was inspired by the thrushes that ate strawberries in the garden at Morris’s home, Kelmscott Manor, and combines birds, leaves, flowers, and fruit in a rich yet balanced composition.

William Morris (1834–1896) was one of the most important designers of the Arts and Crafts movement and saw nature as a constant source of decorative forms. In Strawberry Thief, he developed the advanced indigo discharge technique, in which the fabric was first dyed blue and then bleached and block-printed in several colors. The result became one of his most recognizable patterns. The combination of history, craftsmanship, and lush nature makes the motif easy to use as a decorative focal point even in contemporary homes.
