Six Works and a Revolution
Arthur B. Davies himself was represented by six works while also helping to organise New York’s Armory Show in 1913. The exhibition introduced an American audience to modern European art, so Davies stood literally on both sides of the upheaval in art history.

The story behind the motif

Poster with a vintage nude sketch by Arthur Bowen Davies. The motif is called Standing Female Nude and shows a naked woman posing sensually. The original is at the Yale University Art Gallery. 

Davies was an avant-garde American artist and influential proponent of modern art in the United States in the early 20th century.
