Poster with the painting "The ship Öland 1704" by Albert Berg from 1870.

The painting depicts Battle of Orford Ness - the dramatic encounter between the Swedish liner Öland, under the command of Gustaf Psilander, and a superior English naval force off the coast of England in 1704. When Psilander refused to set sail as a mark of honor – something which, according to Charles XII's order, was punishable by death – a four-hour battle began.

Although Öland was put out of combat condition, Psilander refused to surrender and signaled distress without lowering the flag, which according to the standards of the time saved Sweden's honor. Öland was seized, but Psilander was released and returned to Sweden shortly afterwards.

Albert Berg (1832-1916) was a Swedish artist from Gothenburg. He was best known for his marine paintings and historical scenes, especially depictions of naval battles. Berg played an important role in documenting and communicating maritime history through his artistic work, and his work has contributed to preserving important historical moments in Sweden's naval history.

We deliver worldwide and always offer free shipping! Depending on which country you are shipping to, the delivery may mean that certain customs fees and taxes are added - there is no duty or tax on deliveries within, for example, the EU, USA or Norway.

The delivery time is normally 1-3 working days within the Nordic region, 2-5 to the rest of Europe and 3-8 working days in other parts of the world. As for canvas paintings, we make them by hand in our factory in Sweden.

The canvas needs to dry before we stretch them on a wooden frame and send them to you. The delivery time for a canvas painting is therefore approximately 7 working days within the Nordic countries, slightly longer to other countries.

If you order from Norway, your order will be delivered with Fedex, to Sweden and other parts of the world with DHL. Your package is normally delivered to your nearest agent!
