The story behind the motif
Poster featuring the painting View of the Fishing Villages of Klädesholmen by the Swedish artist Fredrik Justus Weinberg (1770-1832). The painting depicts the historic fishing village of Klädesholmen in Bohuslän, one of Sweden’s oldest herring fishing sites with origins dating back to the 16th century.
Klädesholmen, located on Tjörn on the West Coast, was during the 19th century a lively centre for herring fishing and the canning industry. The characteristic wooden buildings and harbour have been preserved and still constitute one of Bohuslän’s most picturesque places.
The poster is printed on premium 230g fine art paper in Sweden. A timeless design suited to both homes and public spaces.
Frame not included.
