The story behind the motif
Posted by The German well, which was one of the many public wells in Stockholm, built at Brunkebergsåsen where the fresh groundwater was an important resource for the city. The well underwent a reconstruction where a new superstructure in the form of a neo-antique temple was created.
The German Well has remained well preserved and is still a historical monument in Stockholm, Gamla Stan.
