The story behind the motif

Poster with a poster about the treaty of Sweden's Defense Associations from 1912. On the poster we see the text "Sweden's defense associations organize a lecture: Every Swede should have a strong will to maintain the security of the fatherland".

The purpose of the poster is to inform about this talk where Sweden's Defense Associations want to encourage voluntary defense work.

In the picture we see an illustrated soldier standing in front of a background of, what can be thought to be, a castle as well as water and islands. The artist of the work is Greta Welamson. She was a Swedish book artist, typewriter, drawing teacher, draughtsman and painter.
