The story behind the motif
Poster with a retro photograph from Västerås in 1962. In the picture we see a competition in the motor sport Speedcar on a snow-filled track. Today, the sport is better known as Go-Kart.
The Go-Kart originated in the United States, where auto mechanic Art Ingels was a resourceful type who welded together a four-wheeler with a lawnmower engine in the late 1950s. The interest was great when Ingels showed off his new build and it didn't take long before thousands of Go-Karts had been factory manufactured.
