Five Years Before the Restoration
When Åke Blomquist took the photograph in 1957, Ebba Brahe’s palace still had a third storey added in the 1760s. During the 1962–68 restoration, it was removed to return the seventeenth-century palace to its earlier volume. The name is misleading as well: the building was erected for Louis de Geer and only purchased by Ebba Brahe in the 1650s.
