The story behind the motif
Poster with an illustration of a castle-like gazebo that was built in 1813 by the manufacturer John Wought on a large terrace wall at Söder Mälarstrand, Södermalm in Stockholm. The building was designed to resemble a small castle, which was a popular style for garden buildings during this time
The gazebo is 6 meters wide and built in half timber, the house was also part of a trend during the early 19th century where garden buildings were designed to create dramatic and imaginative landscapes. It was a way to combine nature, art and architecture to create a place for recreation and social life.
Frame not included.
