The story behind the motif
S:t Eriks Bryggeri was a brewery on Kungsholms Torg that was active between 1859 and 1929. In the 1870s, the beer S:t Erik was launched, which became a real success, which meant that the brewery chose to rename itself from its original name Brussels Bryggeri AB to S:t Eriks Bryggeri.
The beer is still available today and is sold at Systembolaget under the name S:t Eriks IPA.The parts of the brewery with a facade facing Kungsholms Torg have been preserved - the rest have been given space for residential buildings.
