The story behind the motif
Poster with a vintage photograph that shows a female driver of a car with the number 23 smiling and looking out the window. An official stands in front of the car and waves a flag, either to welcome the car to the finish line or to start the rally. The background shows a building with a Shell advertising sign.
The Nordic Ladies Rally was a competition for female drivers held in the Nordic region, and was part of the development of motorsport in the 1960s.
The rally brought together female drivers from several Nordic countries and consisted of challenging drives on varying road surfaces and in difficult weather conditions. The competition was an important step in increasing women's participation in motorsport and creating a platform for female drivers to showcase their skills.
The picture was taken in Sweden in 1960.
