The story behind the motif
Poster with an old map of beautiful Marstrand from 1669, created by Kettil Classon Felterus.
On the map we see a stone, similar to a tombstone, with the title : Plant and geometric alignment on the Marstrana city plots, streets, small alleys and mountains and more, which remarkably could be what everything is on the charter.
Under the heading we see the text: Description 1. år high mountains for which no proper streets can be made, part of which is built-up and part is used for trees and kåhlgårds [gardens and cabbage gardens] 2. år Rådhus gatan [Rådhusgatan] which became highlighted 3. ähr dhe tompter, as utaf wådhelden [vådelden] belfwo af brändhe. Delineated and measured in April a:o 1669 by Catullo Claudij Feltero."
