The story behind the motif

A beautiful drawing with the heraldic coat of arms for the province of Hälsingland from the 19th century. 

Hälsingland is a landscape in northern Sweden, known for its rich nature and for having historically had a strong agricultural profile, significant for the Swedish timber and forest industry, especially during the late 19th and 20th centuries.

Several of the "Hälsingegårdarna", which are large and richly decorated farmhouses, are today included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, which underlines their cultural and historical value. The folk tradition is strong in Hälsingland, with rich traditions in folk music, dance and folk art. 

The text above the coat of arms reads:  Helsingland's Coat of Arms. At the bottom left it says: "Sweden's National and Country Coat of Arms. Established by the Royal Majesty. After drawings by Prof. M. AD. Hildebrandt in Berlin. Published by Carl Arvid Klingspor."
