The story behind the motif

Poster with a beautiful oil painting of a bank fishing fleet from the 1860s. The painting was created in 1921 by Jacob Hägg for the Jubilee exhibition in Gothenburg in 1923.

The painting hung together with Hägg's other large works in Property of the Maritime Museum in the maritime pavilion. The anniversary exhibition in Gothenburg was arranged to celebrate the city's 300th anniversary.
