When the Sister Ships Became Indistinguishable
The museum catalogue cannot establish whether the image shows Gladan or Falken – and that is hardly surprising. The two schooners were built as sister ships at Stockholm Naval Shipyard in 1946–47, specifically to teach the navy’s future officers practical seamanship.

The story behind the motif
Four handsome cadets try to lift a rope on one of the Swedish navy's school ships in 1968. The school ship is either the Gladan or the Falken. The ships were used, among other things, to train naval officers.
