The story behind the motif

Poster with a painting from the late 1800s or early 1900s depicting Bogskär lighthouse.

In the picture, the moon shines over the whipping sea and to the right a steamer is seen on its way away. Bogskär lighthouse is located on a small island in the Baltic Sea and is Finland's southernmost territory. The nearest country is over 50 km away.
