Rohman’s Poster Factory
The Swedish poster is an original work by Eric Rohman, not merely an American design with a new title. He was responsible for most of the film posters printed in Sweden and later managed to draw four to five a week. The Royal Library dates this particular Garbo poster to 1929, printed in Stockholm.

The story behind the motif

Poster of The Green Hat from 1928, the film classic with Greta Garbo and John Gilbert (original title A Woman of Affairs ) .

Diana (Greta Garbo) and Neville (John Gilbert) are upper-class children in love, but are separated when Neville is sent to Egypt. Diana instead marries family friend David, but tragedy strikes when David takes his own life, shattering Diana's world.

The poster is a perfect tribute to one of the gems of film history, ideal for collectors and film buffs who appreciate the 1920s.
