A Cloak as Punishment
The image belongs to Anna Wahlenberg’s tale The Sorcerer’s Cloak in the 1912 edition of Among Gnomes and Trolls. After abducting Alvida, the sorcerer has his own cloak transformed into a punishment: every night he is forced to fly out and leave gifts for the tired and unhappy.
