Venice in Two Versions
Monet painted only two versions of Palazzo da Mula during his ten-week stay in Venice in the autumn of 1908. The journey was his only one to the city; after returning home, he continued working on the Venetian canvases in Giverny, and 29 of them were first shown in Paris in 1912.

The story behind the motif

Beautiful canvas painting with a painting by the French artist Claude Monet. The subject of the painting is of the Palazzo da Mula Morosini , located on the Grand Canal and painted by Monet during his trip to Venice in 1908.

Claude Monet was born in 1840 in Paris and became one of the main pioneers of Impressionism. Monet's work Impression or Sunrise from 1872 gave name to the movement.

Disillusioned with the traditional academic painting taught at universities, Monet applied to Charles Gleyre's studio in Paris in 1862. There he met Pierre-Auguste Renoir, Frederic Bazille and Alfred Sisley. Together they shared a new approach to painting. They painted the effects of light outdoors with broken colors and rapid brushstrokes, the art style that later became known as Impressionism.

If you order from Norway, your order will be delivered with Fedex; to Sweden and the rest of the world with DHL. Your package is normally delivered to your nearest pickup point!
