A Message in the Negative
The small text at the edge of the image is not a later archival note. Anders Karlsson used to scratch comments and dates directly into his negatives, and here he left an unusually precise detail: “Hos Schönborg, Rålen, Dalsland, 1948”. The photograph thus carries its own small provenance.

The story behind the motif

Poster with a fantastic photograph from 1948. The photo is of Gerda Thörn feeding a horse with apples through the kitchen window. On the left edge of the picture you can make out the text: " Hos Schönborg, Rålen, Dalsland, 1948".
