Who was Elsa Beskow?
Elsa Beskow (1874–1953) is one of the Nordic region’s most significant children’s book illustrators and authors. She is known for her richly detailed and poetic depictions of nature, where forests, flowers, and fairy-tale beings are woven together into a unique and timeless visual world.
Through works such as Putte’s Adventure in the Blueberry Forest, The Flower Festival in the Garden, Aunt Green, Aunt Brown and Aunt Lavender and The Sun Egg, she created stories that have shaped generations.
