The story behind the motif
Two uniformed sailors on board the ship Älvsnabben wave goodbye to harbor visitors during the long voyage in 1966-1967. The ship left Sweden in 1966, went towards Australia, the west coast of the USA, through the Panama Canal via Dublin home to Marstrand 6/5 1967. King Carl XVI Gustaf went along on this trip which is why a photographer was on board.
